Well, it's official: I'm going digital. I have decided that, due to the increasing costs of film and processing, as well as the significant technological advancement of DSLRs, and their commensurate drop in price, the time has come to retire my Olympus OM system and go digital. After many hours of research, I believe I have settled on the Canon Rebel XSi, and for two reasons: 1) The EF mount allows me to use my dad's lenses from his 35mm EOS Elan, and 2) there is an adapter available that allows me to use my old OM lenses on the XSi body (cool!). I looked at the Nikon system extensively as well, but Canon's compatibility won me over.

So, all you DSLR users sound off: what camera do you use and why? And how is the editing software that comes with Canon and Nikon cameras?
